Arpil 5, 2009 A Cup as Big as my Daughter and Crying Easter Bunny

Today we went to see the Easter Bunny at the mall. Before we arrived at Bunny Lane we went to lunch at Bacana's in Chesterfield. As we were walking into the restaurant, Sophia squealed with delight! I had no idea what was going on behind me as a I slowly turned around to find Sophia accompanied by her daddy walking backwards trying to see her favorite furry red monster. Elmo! Elmo was walking into the restaurant right behind us. Sophia couldn't believe her eyes. There was her best red furry pals going to have lunch at Bacana's. Well, he was actually headed there for a birthday party as he strolled back in his cute lovable way to a huge party room in the back of the restaurant. We could hear him dancing around back there with the kids. It was pretty amusing.

Not only did we see Elmo at the restaurant, we also got to see a magician / ventriloquist / balloonist performing in the courtyard area for the birthday as well. Since we were seated right next to the window, we had a great view of the show. I almost felt like we should have tipped the guy because we could see his entire show from our dinner table even though he was actually booked for the birthday party.

So moving on to the Easter Bunny. We arrived at Bunny Lane in the mall. Sophia loved the Easter Bunny as long as she could give him "high 5's" She smiled and told him "Hi!" I was so proud, however, when it came to actually sitting on the bunny's lap for the photo. That wasn't happening. She wanted no part of sitting on the bunny's lap. So, we have no formal Easter Bunny photo. We tried walking around and coming back to the bunny, but she still didn't want to sit on the bunny's lap. I couldn't get her close enough to have them snap a photo. She even made the Easter Bunny cry because she wouldn't get close enough to him for a photo. Now, there is a surprise. Usually, it is the kid who cries not the bunny who cries.

Since we were out for several hours, we stopped at Steak and Shake and grabbed a few beverages. They ran out of the normal size cups so they put our medium drinks in these huge super sized cups. I took one look at this huge cup and wondered, what is this world coming to when people need to drink a soda or shake as big as their kid?  It was almost a bucket size. Sophia obviously wanted to try a sip of my beverage as demostrated by the photo. You can see how big that cup is compared to Sophia.

Here, you can see it took up half of the back seat.

The cup is as big as my daughter.
