Sophia and Kaylee's Garden June 22,2012

This morning Kaylee and I went to pull some weeds and cultivate the garden with the garden tools.  I got all dirty crawling around on the ground and had to rush home for the quickest shower on record before Sophia's last day of camp Program.  So if you saw Kaylee and I at ICD this morning and Kaylee looked a bit muddy, well, she had a good reason. She dozed off while I got cleaned up and I forgot to change her muddy clothes until I was walking out the door. I will be posting Sophia's program info soon.  I am pretty pleased with the way my garden is progressing.  I was amazed that the zucchini plants are as tall as Kaylee.  I know my girls are going to love picking the veggies in a few weeks.  They are already begging me.  Sophia was excited about the pepper and squash I brought home for her today.  They are pictured below. :)

Rows of tomatoes

Going to have lots of squash and

Beans and peas needing a good weeding

The zucchini and squash plants are almost as big as my sweet Kaylee beans girl.

My first yellow bell pepper growing.

I pulled the weed right under that leaf and the pepper fell off the plant into my hand.

Tomatoes. I can't wait up sink my teeth into the first juicy red tomato of this summer.

Fish & Company - Resting from boat ride with a little Hula Hooping

Sophia wearing her new swimming suit trying to do the Hula Hoop.
A cute new bikini for Kaylee was necessary because mommy forgot to pack Kaylee's swimming suits. I remembered her swim diapers and cover-ups but no suits. Here she is Hula Hooping at Fish and Co. at Lake of the Ozarks.

Both girls Hooping it up next to the band.

Kaylee sitting on my shoulders and her grandma looking on as we relax.

Franky and Louie's

Kaylee playing games in the Arcade.

Oh no! Look she is driving.

Sisters racing cars in the Arcade.

Sophia looks just a bit too comfortable on that motorcycle but she is having fun.

Oh my!  She is holding a toy gun and shooting at the game.

Kaylee got stuck between the race cars.

Sophia and Kaylee garden

Tuesday was a busy day. We watched Smurfs at the free summer series for kids at the Great Escape Movie Theatre. It was the first time I have seen the movie. After that fun time, we went to do some hard work.

I planted a good sized garden a few weeks back with lots of vegetables so today was weeding day. I was covered in the dirt from head to toe pulling weeds and adding cages to my tomato plants but it was worth the work. I can't wait to eat all these yummy vegetables in a few months. Mmmmm!

Grandpa entertaining the girls by taking Kaylee for a wagon ride on his scooter.

Sophia sitting on the garden seat resting.

Caged Tomatoes

Yellow and red bell peppers. Yeah, I found one tiny pepper at bottom of the plant so far.

Sophia planted a few random corn seeds that have grown into stalks.

Squash and Zucchini plants are doing super.  They are almost as big as Kaylee.

A honey dew plant just for fun.

I planted a row of green beans

Shown here is a row of Asparagus

The Peas look good too.

Onions are always easy to grow.

Sophia and Kaylee Garden. I am so excited that this is going pretty well. I have always planted container gardens and had a little success and a few veggies. I have high hopes for this large garden and hope the critters don't eat all the goodies before my girls and I can enjoy the result of my hard work.
