Alpha Xi Delta sponsored an event to raise money for Autism Speaks, a charity, that was adopted just recently as their philanthropy. I being an advisor to the current chapter felt that we should support the girls in their efforts and thought this would be a great way to get my daughter involved in helping fellow children.  She loved it.  The girls thought she was adorable and praised her for being so generous to make a bear for their event. Being a mom,  I knew it was in my best interest to keep the waterfall tears from flowing by letting Sophia pick out a bear of her own to take home as well.  I told her we were making a bear for kids but that she could also pick one out for herself too. I knew she wouldn't fully understand when she made a bear and had to give it up so I let her make one for the kids and one for her. She had a blast as you can see from the photos above and the slide show below.
