First night of vacation

We decided on a whim to head to Destin, Florida for vacation. Originally, we planned to do stuff around St Louis like visiting the Zoo, Arch, Science Center or something similar. My husband was off work for a week and rain and tornadoes were predicted for the entire week in our town. So about twenty four hours before we hit the road my husband said let's go somewhere.

I hurried to the travel agency to see if we could book a last minute trip and found some great condos in Destin, FL. I didn't book the trip until the morning of the day we left because I had to discuss our options with Scott to see what sounded good. With little kids, we decided driving would be our best option so we could stop when necessary. We divided the trip into two days although if it had been just the two of us, we would have driven straight through. We knew we would need to make frequent stops for the kids. We left at about two o'clock in the afternoon, normally naptime for my kids. In theory that was a great idea. In reality, well, let's just say, I didn't put the kids back on a plane to Grandma's but seriously considered it a few times.

Kaylee was having an awful day teething and cried/whined and fussed for almost hour hours straight. Yes, I did give her all the teething soothers possible. She is not pictured here because she was asleep but she was in the room with us.

We planned to stay in Nashville, TN the first night. It was a logical stopping place on the way to Destin.

Although these photos are not very exciting taken in the La Quinta Inn in Nashville, TN you can see the excitement in Sophia's expressions captured in these photographs. This place was priced right and was nice and clean for a quick sleeping night.
