November 22, 2008 Drinking Problems - Diet Dr. Pepper

This photo is so funny, now that I look back at it.  Guitar Hero guitar is in the background as Sophia appears to be biting into the side of a soda can.  I am not sure why this strikes me as so funny, other than thinking of the phrase, "party like a rock star."  

Here, Sophia is showing me how to drink a Diet Dr. Pepper.  I bought some Diet Dr. Pepper cans at Costco and the box was huge so I had it sitting next to the steps to be brought downstairs.  Sophia took one look at it and started tearing the box open to see what was inside.  Before I realized it, she was taking sodas out of the box and pretending to drink them like she sees mom and dad do all the time.  She took about three or four out and here is the result. 

  It is a good thing it wasn't a beer can.  Can you imagine?

 Wow! How do they do that?  Mom and Dad drink these all the time.  I think I will stick to my "ba ba!"

November 16, 2008 Caught stealing food out of the frig...

Hope mom doesn't catch me in here. I will just snatch a quick snack and maybe grab something for my poor sore gums.

These look pretty good. Uh, oh!  Here comes mum mum!  

Sophia what do you have there, a bag full of teething rings?  Are you teething again, sweetie?

 Caught in the act, stealing Jello from the refrigerator.  "Maybe I ought to feed you once in a while." 

You look pretty proud that you can get Jello out of the refrigerator all by yourself. I guess I will have to keep tabs on how much Jello we have to keep you stocked up on it.

These are few fun photos of Sophia just being silly while Daddy was home this past week. Mommy was moving stuff around trying to figure out where everything was going to be kept and Sophia climbed into the carseat and made silly faces at her daddy.

January 2, 2009 Naa NEE Blanket in the making?

When I was a very small child, I had a "Naa NEE" blanket.  If I get a chance I will add the photo.  Sophia may be growing attached to a certain blanket her bed.  She love, love, loves it! She kisses it and chews it and rubs it on her face. Not to mention, when she gets up, she drags it out of the bed and all around the house for about the first hour of the day.  She just loves this blanket.  I can barely get it away from her to wash it.  I am not sure if this will be her "lovey"  a.k.a. security blanket or not, but I know she is very attached to this blanket.  Only time will tell if she will have her very own Naa NEE blanket just as I had.  I love you my dearest Sophia.  Snuggle up with that blanket and love it well.  It will keep you snug and warm. 

January 2, 2009 Cat playing PS3

I am not sure that this is what Sony meant when they said the PS3 was entertaining for the whole family.  The cat was standing up and trying to catch the game. By the time I grabbed the camera she sat down and just watched the game her head moving back and forth as Scott played the game.  Oh, and there is no stripe going across the TV, that is from the light filter in the room.

You can barely see her in this picture because the backlight of the TV interferred with the flash, but she is laying there on the floor watching the game.

January 2, 2009 Hats Off to the New Year

Today Daddy went back to work so we played dolls and dress up in our hats.  Sophia has been putting on Daddy's Mizzou hat all morning and putting it on her baby dolls.  I also pulled some of her old newborn hats out of storage and let her dress her dolls with them.  Here we are running around the house, playing piano, and being silly wearing our hats.  Hats off to all!  

December 30, 2008 Spaghetti - Sophia makes her Italian relatives proud!

Sophia had spaghetti for the first time with sauce.  It was quite messy.  You can see our dog Brandy in the background just watching and waiting for the spaghetti to hit the floor.  Sophia grabbed the spaghetti with both hands and took a bite right out of the middle. She also put it in her hair and wrapped it around her wrist.  It was a funny night watching her eat spaghetti.
